It has been a long time since we have posted on this BLOG! And that is because we have created the University of Nevada Winter Sports Club (UNRWSC)
The UNRWSC is the new home to the University of Nevada Ski Team.
It is the club mission to promote and grow the winter sports community at the University of Nevada, whether it be Alpine skiing, Freestyle skiing, Snowboarding or Nordic skiing, on a recreational basis, or with competitive goals. The club will help each athlete reach their desired athletic and academic goals, while promoting the highest standards of friendship, sportsmanship, self-discipline and responsibility

MSU and UU Invite Recap and Photos
The first two college race weekends have came and gone! Newcomer Maria Grafnings got off to a strong start with four top 10's. Fellow Swede, and senior, Kristin also raced in the top 10 at the MSU innovational in the mass start skate race. Ase slipped a disk this fall and is just now getting back into skiing. She will do 3 hard intervals to tune her up for next weeks races in Red River, NM.
On the mens side it was a rough start to the season. We have had good training, and we have stayed relatively healthy, but we did not show up. The skiers tried hard, but it was clear that these were our first races. It was also clear that the volume training was still leaving a little rust... However, August B. was able to have one of his best college classic skis and Charlie Smith who is back from a break to Thailand and Indonesia, had the best result of the trip with a 15th. This week we have done some L4 intervals to open the longs, break off any rust that SOHO did not, and increase our speed efficiency.

The Boys are back in town... and the college season started today!
The college season started today with our alpine team kicking things off in Utah at the UU Invite. We are in 4th... and moving up. The Mens Nordic team has been training in Tahoe for a week. We have been getting used to the altitude and the hard California life, as seen above. Trygve at the top of the world @TDXC on a long skate. We were also able to check out the 1960 Squaw Valley Olympic trails, and ski along Lake Tahoe. With all the hard training we had to have some good fuel... and there is no fuel like Swiss Fondue! The Men's Team +1 will head to Bozeman on Wednesday to meet up with the Women's team!
We cant wait to see you either :)
